The New Zealand Consulate General in Mumbai is working hard towards atrracting more Indian students to study in New Zealand. At present more than 11,000 students are studying in New Zealand.

“Our student numbers from India have continued to grow and while currently we get a majority of our students from the northern states, having a presence in Mumbai will enable us to focus more on the west and south of the country,” said Education New Zealand regional director (South Asia) Ziena Jalil.

“The New Zealand government has announced changes to our work rights programme which will allow more foreign students to work while studying, enabling them to gain valuable business experience,” said Immigration New Zealand Mumbai area manager Nathanael Mackay.

As per Press Trust of India (PTI) report, The Mumbai Consulate General currently attends to consular, trade, investment, tourism and visa functions.
