The Institute of Education (IOE) is a public research university located in London, UK specialised in postgraduate study and research in the field of education, and a constituent college of the University of London. The IOE is generally recognised as one of the best institutions focusing on educational research and offering teacher training and Education studies. It was accorded joint first place, alongside Oxford University, in the 2008 Research Assessment ‘Education’ subject rankings, according to both Times Higher Education and the Guardian).
