University of Auckland is inviting application for a full-time scholarship to study a BFA, BFA (Hons), PGDipFA or MFA programme. The Scholarship is only tenable by a student who is a citizen or permanent resident of New Zealand. The value of the Scholarship is up to $10,000 and is to be paid to the winning student(s) in the year awarded. The application deadline is 30th June 2014.

Eligibility

The Scholarship is open to students who have paid the fees or arranged to pay fees for full-time study in a BFA, BFA (Hons), PGDipFA or MFA at The University of Auckland. The objective of the award is to provide financial assistance to someone continuing his or her studies. Past recipients of this Scholarship are not eligible to apply again. Scholarship Description:

The Scholarship was established in 2005 and is financed from the Trust Fund set up by Henrietta and Lola Anne Tunbridge. The main purpose of the Scholarship is to assist New Zealand students in the general area of watercolour painting. The Scholarship is open to students who have paid the fees or arranged to pay fees for full-time study in a BFA, BFA (Hons), PGDipFA or MFA at The University of Auckland. The objective of the award is to provide financial assistance to someone continuing his or her studies. Past recipients of this Scholarship are not eligible to apply again.

Selection Criteria:

The Scholarship will be awarded to the student who, in the opinion of the Selection Committee, presented the best selection of six watercolour paintings which explore contemporary artistic themes. Only works executed in watercolour will be deemed eligible for selection, no other medium will be considered. Only watercolour on paper will be deemed eligible for selection, no other presentation formats will be considered. Works are not restricted by size, nor the paper chosen. The works must be accompanied by a supporting statement which outlines the ideas and approach taken to the medium of watercolour.

The application deadline is 30th June 2014.
