Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Commission (with funding from DFID) and UK universities. Applications are invited for Commonwealth Shared Scholarships 2014 from students of developing Commonwealth countries wishing to pursue a taught Master’s course at a participating institution in UK.

Scholarship Description:

Commonwealth Shared Scholarships 2014 is offered to students of developing Commonwealth countries wishing to pursue a taught Master’s course at a participating institution in UK. The courses undertaken must be demonstrably relevant to the economic, social or technological development of the candidate’s home country.

How to apply:

Candidates need to apply through the university at which they wish to study. Candidates are expected to be nominated by a university, and to have completed an application form using the Electronic Application System (EAS). The EAS will close to applicants on 16 April 2014. Some university closing dates may be before 16 April, and some universities may require candidates to complete a university application form, in addition to the EAS.

Eligibility :

=> Candidates should be nationals of (or permanently domiciled in) a developing Commonwealth country, and not currently be living or studying in a developed country.
=> Candidates must hold a first degree at either first or upper second class level.
=> Candidates must be sufficiently fluent in English to pursue the course.
=> Candidates must not have previously studied for one year or more in a developed country.
=> Candidates must be able to confirm in writing that neither they nor their families would otherwise be able to pay for the proposed course of study.
=> Candidates must be willing to confirm that they will return to their home country as soon as their period of study is complete.

* Student stipend supported by the concerned university
* Cost of tuition fees (at overseas rate), return airfares, and other allowances funded by CSC
