The famous Somnath Trust of Shree Somnath Temple established Shree Somnath college in 1960 at Veraval, a costal area. The college is situated on sea shore. The aim of the institution was to provide higher education to the people of veraval and its adjoining rural areas. In 1967, the college was transferred to the local trust, Somnath Education Society.
