Shramjivi Shikshan Prasarak Mandal (S.S.P.M.) was established in 1984 in a small way in tin cottage shed and Adarsh Mahavidyalaya was started 1990 with Arts and Science and Commerce faculties and grown steadily within the last 13 years. However the commerce faculty was to be discontinue because of lack of student strength. This S.S.P.M. also runs two primary schools, four high schools, two junior colleges, one D.Ed. and one B.Ed. training college and one English Medium School.The college has submitted Self Study Report to NAAC for getting assessed. The NAAC has therefore, sent a peer team consisting of Prof. (Mrs.) Vidyavati, Ex-Vice Chancellor, Kakatiya University, Warangal as Chairperson and Prof. G. S. Bidarkappa former Head Department of social work, Karnataka University, Dharwad as a member coordinator and Prof. U. C. Jain Principal Govt. Mahakoshal Arts and Commerce college, Jabalpur Madhya Pradesh.
The members of the management are drawn from different walks of life comprising of social workers, educationists and freedom fighter. The President, Shri. Vinayakraoji Patil, has contributed in rehabilitation of the earthquake affected people in the area of Killari, and Bhuj. Shri. Basavrajji Patil, General Secretary of this Institute is a State Minister for rural development in Maharashtra. The Local Management Committee is constituted as per the University Rules.The College is affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad with Grant-in-Aid in the year 1997 and recognized by UGC under 2f and 12B in the year 2003. And it is awaiting to get grants from the UGC. The college is located in rural background on an area of 5 acres of land.
The college has started very socially useful courses like Microbiology, Industrial Chemistry, Fishery Science, Computer Science and Music were started. Among the P. G. Courses M.A. English, History, Economics and in M.Sc. Mathematics, Botany and Zoology were introduced Recently, the college has started the unit of competitive examinations and vocational guidance.The Peer Team went around the college and collected relevant information from the offices, faculty, and library, the support services and interacted with the students, parents, alumni, non-teaching staff verified the documents. Based on all these and other stakeholders the Peer Team has given the benefit criterion-wise analysis.
