AICTE has decided to conduct Common Management Aptitude Test (CMAT) twice a year from 2013. The entrance exam will be conducted after a gap of 6 months. This would help interested candidates to sit again for the entrance test. The best score would be considered while admission in any B-School.

From 2013 it will be mandatory for all AICTE approved colleges to take admission by considering CMAT scores.

AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) has launched CMAT (Common Management Admission Test) for getting admission in all B- Schools through out India for the academic year 2012- 2014

Education Promotion Society of India (EPSI), an association of B- School and Association of Indian Management Schools ( AIMS) have objected to the idea of a single entrance test.

All India Council for Technical Education ( AICTE ) had come up with the unique idea to conduct Common Management Aptitude Test ( CMAT ) for admission to all AICTE approved management colleges for MBA courses and post graduate diploma in business administration. It was a great move as students had to appear for one single exam and not multiple exams. But the idea was challenged in court, thus AICTE will be conducting the regular CMAT exam in the year 2012 and students will have to appear for multiple entrance test.
