The council was established in 1984 and is headquartered in Guwahati. AHSEC is a regulating body that supervises higher secondary (HS) education in Assam. The board is located in Guwahati, India since it was established. The board decides the syllabus, exam schedule, and exam pattern for HS (class 12th) exam in Assam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The council also conducts the HS TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) for candidates who wish to teach at the HS level in Assam.
