At present more than 10,000 schools are affiliated with the Board. The Board sets up over 1,300 examination centers for over 300,000 examinees every year. For the first time exams were conducted in 1999, under the regional office at Ramnagar for the Garhwal division and Kumaon division. Uttaranchal Shiksha Evam Pariksha Parishad was established on September 22, 1996, and followed by the foundation of the new state Uttaranchal from erstwhile Uttar Pradesh.
