On Friday afternoon, Ratan Ram dumped both of his children, one by one, into the well. They died of drowning. Then, he too jumped into the well. Later, when the villagers did not see him around for a long time, they started searching for him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After tracing the bodies, the villagers informed the police. Sources said that Ratan Ram was reportedly frustrated due to the prolonged illness of his wife and, therefore, decided to kill the children and himself. Locals said they were shocked that Ratan Ram could take such an extreme step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The district level girls’ Kabaddi tournament was held on the ground of the Govt Girls’ Senior Secondary School of the city. It was inaugurated by the Education Minister. Thirty teams from different schools participated in this tournament. Many exciting matches were played. All the girls were tall, well-built, lively and gay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The players played well. There was a big crowd of students. Some of the players became desperate and rash in this tournament but they were soon warned and checked. A Report on A Boat Tragedy<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kota, July 10 : Twenty-four people, including 11 women and 6 children died when an overcrowded boat capsized in the swirling waters of River Chambal near Kota.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The terrible tragedy occurred when villagers were crossing the swollen river to visit a local fair. The boat had 80 people aboard when the mishap happened. 15th August is a national festival of ours. It is a gala day. The Independence Day function was celebrated in our school with pomp and show. A large number of guests came to attend this function. The Principal unfurled the National Flag. The National Anthem was sung by all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Shop on Fire

Shanti Provision Store is one of the prominent and biggest stores of Naya Bazar of Jaipur. Last night the store was on fire due to an electric short circuit. Perhaps it must have been an hour until the watchman, who was on his usual round, noticed it and informed the owner at the earliest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fire brigade was called and fire was brought under Course Class-12 control before it could take the neighbouring shops in its grip. However, the owner of the burnt shop, Harsh Chauhan suffered a great loss estimated at around \u20b9 10 lac. Mr Chauhan is under shock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nine people lost their eyesight after undergoing a cataract surgery at a private hospital. The victims were shifted to the government-run Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital in Faridabad where the doctors said the retinas of the victims had been damaged and chances of regaining their eyesight were very less.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the patients underwent the botched surgery six days ago, the incident came to light only on Sunday after the doctors of SD Eye Hospital confirmed the loss of eyesight. Government Senior Secondary School, Baya, organized Inter-Class Football matches last week. The matches were organized on 10th & 11th April during its sports week from April 9th to 15th. The first match was inaugurated by the principal of the school. Five teams of class XII (section A, B, C, D & E) participated in the qualifying round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was a Free Eye Operation Camp held in school building of Govt Higher Secondary School, Sikar last week by an N.G.O. The Health Minister of Rajasthan Government inaugurated the camp. There was a large gathering of patients there. On the first day, the patients were admitted to the camp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The eye-specialist Dr Sudheer examined their eyes and gave them necessary medicines and instructions. Next day, operations were performed. On the last day, the patients were sent to their homes. Legislative assembly elections took place in Rajasthan this month. Code of conduct had been imposed by the election commission since the declaration of the election. Political parties launched their election campaigns. The posters and banners of the candidates could be seen at many places. Some candidates moved door-to-door to win the confidence of the people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Political parties held election meetings. The whole atmosphere appeared politically charged. On the day of election, people could be seen going to cast their votes. There was police force to ensure free and fair poll. Polling started at 7.00 a.m. and closed at about 5.00 p.m. As it was a state holiday people had all the time to vote for and elect their representative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like previous years, this year too Agrawal Club, Alwar, celebrated the Independence Day with great pomp and show. One of the main features of the function was Blood Donation Camp. The function started at 8:00 a.m. with Flag Hoisting ceremony by the chairman. After that we performed many colourful cultural programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the cultural programmes, the Blood Donation Camp was organised. The Chairman motivated us for blood donation. He said that blood donation can help a dying person. Man should help man. He was the first to donate his blood. Approximately, twenty members of the club donated their blood in the camp. It was a great satisfaction for every donor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday a heavy and continuous rain took the life of seven persons. It rained for two days. The Choti Kalisind River was flooded and dam broke. The water of the river entered the nearby village, Gangdhar. The homes on the bank of the river drowned in the flood. People became homeless. Many houses collapsed due to flood and heavy rain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
