The Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship (SVMCM Scholarship) is an initiative of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB), an organization dedicated to the spread of knowledge, understanding, and culture. This scholarship is awarded to students from economically weaker sections of society, who are aspiring to pursue higher education. The main aim of this scholarship is to help these students fulfill their dreams of pursuing higher education, contributing to the overall growth and development of the nation.
SVMCM Scholarship
Applications are invited from self motivated and eligible candidates for the position of Swami Vivekananda Scholarship, West Bengal.
Eligibility Criteria:
The applicant must belong to an economically weaker section of society as per the criteria laid down by the government of India.
The applicant must have secured at least 50% marks in the 10+2 level or an equivalent examination.
The applicant must have secured a minimum of 60% marks in the final examination of the course applied for, to be eligible for a merit scholarship.
For students seeking admission to vocational courses or any other courses under the jurisdiction of the BVB, the minimum qualifying marks for the scholarship shall be 40% marks.
The applicant must submit the prescribed application form, duly filled in, along with the necessary documents, by the last date of submission specified in the advertisement.
The selection of candidates will be based on the following parameters: merit in the qualifying examination, academic performance, co-curricular activities, extra-curricular achievements, community service, and social commitment.
The BVB reserves the right to verify the documents of the selected candidates and to cancel their admission in case of any discrepancy.
Documents Required
The applicant must submit the duly filled application form, along with the necessary documents like:
Photocopy of the birth certificate
Photocopy of the 10+2 or equivalent qualifying examination mark sheet
Photocopy of the caste certificate, if applicable
Passport-sized photographs
The signed undertaking, in the format provided by the BVB, regarding the candidate’s acceptance of the scholarship, understanding of the rules and regulations of the BVB, and undertaking to follow the prescribed disciplinary rules and regulations of the institute.
