Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Scholarship 2019 – Online applications are invited from the students for the award for Sanskrit Pathashalas / Mahavidyalayas / High/Higher Secondary Schools / Colleges for the year 2019-2020 under the scheme for Development of Sanskrit Education

Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan

  • Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan (Deemed University), New Delhi established under the auspices of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India invites online applications from the regular students studying Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a main or optional subject in any recognized Sanskrit Pathashala/Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya/ Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya in Traditional Stream or School/College/University in Modern Stream pursuing Purva-Madhyama(1st year)/9th standard, Purva-Madhyama(2nd year)/10th standard, Uttar-Madhyama/Prakshastri(1st year)/11th standard, Uttar- Madhyama/Prakshastri (2nd year)/12th standard, Shastri /B.A (1st/2nd/3rd year), Acharya/M.A(1st/2nd year), Vidyawaridhi/PhD or equivalent for the purpose of award of merit Scholarship for the year 2019-2020 to its students under the scheme for Development of Sanskrit Education.

Number of Scholarship

  • The Number of Scholarships to be awarded each year depends upon the availability of funds
  • Reservations will be provided as per the Government policy from time to time
  • The Scholarship will be awarded to regular students of Educational Institutions, who study Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a subject in the present class as well as previous class also.

Step-I

  • Starting Date of Online Registration 13th July 2019
  • Closing Date of Online Registration: 20th October 2019

Step-II

  • Starting Date of Online Registration 30th July 2019
  •  Closing Date of Online Registration 31st October 2019

Eligibility

  • Class 9th standard/Purva-Madhyama-1st year: Must have passed the previous examination (i.e. 8th class or equivalent course) with a minimum of 60% marks or equal grade in overall and 60% marks or equal grade in Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit. The students should have opted Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a paper of at-least 100 marks or equivalent grade in current class and also in previous class (i.e. 8th class or equivalent course).
  • Class 10th standard/Purva-Madhyama-1st year: Must have passed the previous examination (i.e. 9th class or equivalent course) with a minimum of 60% marks or equal grade in overall and 60% marks or equal grade in Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit. The students should have opted Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a paper of at-least 100 marks or equivalent grade in current class and also in previous class (i.e. 9th class or equivalent course)
  • Class 11th standard/ Prak-Shastri-1st year/ Uttarmadhyama-1st year: Must have passed the previous examination (i.e. 10th class or equivalent course) with a minimum of 60% marks or equal grade in overall and 60% marks or equal grade in Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit. The students should have opted Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a paper of at-least 100 marks or equivalent grade in current class and also in previous class (i.e. 10th standard or equivalent course)
  • Class 12th standard/Prak-Shastri-2nd/Uttarmadhyama-2nd year: Must have passed the previous examination (i.e. 11th class or equivalent course) with a minimum of 60% marks or equal grade in overall and 60% marks or equal grade in Sanskrit/Pali/ Prakrit. The students should have opted Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a paper of at-least 100 marks or equivalent grade in current class and also in previous class (i.e. 11th class or equivalent course)
  • Shastri-1st /B.A.-1st/ B.A.(Hons.)-1st or equivalent course: Must have passed Intermediate/Higher Secondary / 12th class or equivalent course with minimum 60% marks or equal grade in overall subject and also 60% marks or equal grade in the Sanskrit/Pali/ Prakrit. The students should have opted Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a paper of at-least 100 marks or equivalent grade in current class and also in previous class (i.e. 12th class or equivalent course).
  • Shastri-2nd /B.A.-2nd/ B.A.(Hons.)-2ndMust have passed Shastri-1st /B.A.-1st/ B.A.(Hons.)- 1st year or equivalent examination with minimum 60% marks or equal grade in overall subject and also 60% marks or equal grade in the Sanskrit/Pali/ Prakrit. The candidate passed previous two semester/one year or equivalent course (i.e. Shastri- 1st / B.A.-1st/ B.A.(Hons.)-1st year or equivalent course). The students should have opted Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a paper of at-least 100 marks or equivalent grade in current class and also in previous class (i.e. Shastri-1st / B.A.-1st/ B.A.(Hons.)- 1st year or equivalent course)
  • Shastri-3rd /B.A.-3rd/ B.A.(Hons.)-3rd: Must have passed Shastri-2nd /B.A.-2nd/ B.A.(Hons.)-2nd or equivalent examination with minimum 60% marks or equal grade in overall subject and also 60% marks or equal grade in the Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit. The candidate passed previous two semester/one year or equivalent course (i.e. Shastri- 2nd /B.A.-2nd/ B.A.(Hons.)-2nd year or equivalent course). The students should have opted Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a paper of at-least 100 marks or equivalent grade in current class and also in previous class (i.e. Shastri-2nd /B.A.-2nd/ B.A.(Hons.)- 2nd year or equivalent course)
  • Acharya-1st/M.A.-1st year or equivalent in Sanskrit/ Pali/Prakrit: Must have passed Graduation with at-least 60% marks or equal grade in the aggregate and also 60% marks or equal grade in the Sanskrit/Pali/ Prakrit. The students should have opted Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a special subject in current class/course and atleast 100 marks or equal grade in previous class (i.e. Shastri-3rd /B.A.-3rd/ B.A.(Hons.)-3rd year or equivalent course).
  • Acharya-2nd/M.A.-2nd year or equivalent in Sanskrit/ Pali/Prakrit: Must have passed Acharya-1st/M.A.-1st year or equivalent with at-least 60% marks or equal grade in Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit. The candidate should have opted Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a special subject in current class/course
  • Vidyavaridhi/Ph.D. or equivalent in Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit: Must have passed Acharya or M.A. in Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit with at-least 60% marks in the aggregate. The registration of the candidate in Ph.D. course should be done before advertisement and not more than two years from the date of registration

How to Apply

  • The Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan will award Scholarships on the recommendations of a Selection Committee constituted by the Sansthan for the purpose
  • The recommendation of Selection Committee will be placed before GIAC for final approval
  • The merit would be prepared by taking into account the overall grade/percentage plus grade/percentage obtained in Sanskrit. However, for student of Sanskrit honours or traditional stream students, the overall grade/percentage obtained in Sanskrit Honours/Traditional streams will be taken for consideration
  • The list of awardees will be prepared based on a cut off percentage of marks obtained by the students in their previous classes

Step-1

  • All educational institutions to be got registered on-line or for profile updation at www.sanskrit.nic.in or www.scholarship.rsks.in (details of registered institutions will be activated by Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan after due verification within a week of registration
  • Starting date of online registration 13th July 2019 & Closing date of online registration 20th October 2019

Step-2

  • After activation of the relevant institution, student can login and apply for scholarship in On-line application at www.sanskrit.nic.in or www.scholarship.rsks.in
  • Starting date of online application 30th July 2019 & Closing date of online application 31st October 2019

Last Date

The last date for application is 20th October 2019.
