National Talent Search Examination – Indian Students Studying Abroad

The National Talent Search Examination for students studying abroad in Class X is meant to identify the nurture talent. The examination is conducted every year at two levels: Stage-I (State Level) and Stage-II (National Level), however, the students studying abroad are exempted for State Level Stage-I of NTS examinations as per NTS Scheme.

Important Dates

  • Last date for submission of online application: September, 2019.
  • Date of examination:
    • Stage-I (State exam)
      • Examination in Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Andaman and Nicobar Island: November, 2019.
      • Examination in All other States and Union Territories except above and below mentioned 9 states/UTs: November, 2019.
      • Examination in Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, NCT of Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir: November, 2019.
    • Stage-II (National exam):
      • Examination in All States and Union Territories: May, 2020

Eligibility

A candidate should be an Indian national. The NTSE Scholarship shall be paid to the candidates for pursuing studies in India only.

The General category students need to secure 40% in each paper and SC/ST or PH category student need 32% in each paper. The Reservation for the NTSE Scheme is categorised as follows

  • 15% for SC Category students
  • 7.5% for ST Category students
  • 27% for OBC
  • 3% for Physically Challenged students

Qualifying Marks:

  • For SC/ST/PH category is 32%
  • For General/OBC/EWS is 40% in each paper

NTSE Scholarship Application Form for the Indian Candidates studying abroad has been given in the link below. The candidates are required to download and fill the application form with their given appropriate details. The instruction to be followed while filling the application form is given below:

  • Candidates need to download the application from the official website of NCERT or by the link given below.
  • Send the application along with a photocopy of previous year mark sheet by post
