National Talent Search Examination – Indian Students Studying Abroad

The National Talent Search Examination for students studying abroad in Class X is meant to identify the nurture talent. The examination is conducted every year at two levels: Stage-I (State Level) and Stage-II (National Level), however, the students studying abroad are exempted for State Level Stage-I of NTS examinations as per NTS Scheme.
Important Dates
- Last date for submission of online application: September, 2019.
- Date of examination:
- Stage-I (State exam)
- Examination in Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Andaman and Nicobar Island: November, 2019.
- Examination in All other States and Union Territories except above and below mentioned 9 states/UTs: November, 2019.
- Examination in Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, NCT of Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir: November, 2019.
- Stage-II (National exam):
- Examination in All States and Union Territories: May, 2020
- Stage-I (State exam)
Eligibility
A candidate should be an Indian national. The NTSE Scholarship shall be paid to the candidates for pursuing studies in India only.
The General category students need to secure 40% in each paper and SC/ST or PH category student need 32% in each paper. The Reservation for the NTSE Scheme is categorised as follows
- 15% for SC Category students
- 7.5% for ST Category students
- 27% for OBC
- 3% for Physically Challenged students
Qualifying Marks:
- For SC/ST/PH category is 32%
- For General/OBC/EWS is 40% in each paper

- Candidates need to download the application from the official website of NCERT or by the link given below.
- Send the application along with a photocopy of previous year mark sheet by post
