INSPIRE Scholarship 2018 – INSPIRE (Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research) is one of the famous offered by the Department of Science and Technology with the motto of attracting the talent to science.
This complete program is based on the motive of attracting the youth of the country to indulge in the scientific pursuit.
INSPIRE Scholarship Details
- A total of 12,000 (including Institute Mode) scholarships are given annually under SHE to those who have passed Class XII in 2018 only, from recognized Indian State and Central Boards and studying regular three years B.Sc., B.Sc. (Hons), four years B.S or five years integrated M.Sc./M.S. programs in Natural/Basic Sciences at any UGC recognized College/ University/Institutions in India
- The Scheme in its current format does not include courses in Engineering, Medicine, Technology and other Professional/Technical /Applied Science Courses

Eligibility
- Applying candidate must have a 12th pass certificate.
- Candidate Pursuing B.Sc. or 5-year M.Sc from a recognized institution in Natural/ Basic Science in India can apply for the scholarship.
- This scholarship is available for all such as Top 1% scholars in Board exams, For candidates in Top 10000 rank in competitive exams.
- INSPIRE is open to the students of IISER, NISER, DAE-CBS, Top 10000 rank students in JEE Advanced.
- Scholars of KVPY, NTSE, Olympiad toppers, JBNSTS who are choosing B.Sc and M.Sc as higher studies can apply for this scholarship.
- Note that if a student is availing INSPIRE scholarship, then He/ She can’t avail any other scholarship.
Selection Process
- In the case the number of applications exceeds 12000; the selection will be on the basis of Board inclusive model within the available number of Scholarships
- The selection will be subject to evaluation of each completed online application based on the above eligibility criteria including finalization of actual top 1% cut-off of Class 12th Exam 2018 for each Board

Applicant should use his/her own valid and functional email address for submission of the On-line application. The status of the application will be informed only through On-line portal to the applicant.
Before filling application form, applicant is required to scan and store the following documents as separate files and the same needs to be uploaded as required during the ‘On-line Application’ process. The mandatory documents are (i) Passport size photograph (ii) Class XII Mark sheet (iii) Class X Mark sheet or Certificate, for proof of Date of Birth (iv) Endorsement Form/ Certificate signed by the Principal of the College/Director of the Institute/Registrar of the University
Last Date
The last date for application is 15th December 2018.
