Dr Reddy’s Foundation Sashakt Scholarship 2019 – In order to encourage more women to pursue a career in science, Dr Reddy’s Foundation on the occasion of International Women’s Day on Thursday launched ‘Sashakt-Women for Science’ Scholarship for girls opting to study B.Sc. in pure natural sciences.
About the Scholarship
- Sashakt Scholarship is a one-of-its-kind initiative to encourage young women across India to prepare for and pursue a career in science.
- The scholarship is meant for girls who have finished school and are at a crucial juncture in their career choices as they get ready to enroll for graduation.
- Given that very few women embark on a career as scientist, this scholarship provides an opportunity for young girls to dare to dream without being restricted by financial constraints or family priorities.
- The scholarship covers both the college and residential expenses for the three years of study in any one of the below 12 top shortlisted science colleges in India.
Important Dates
- Scholarship Registrations will begin on 15th December 2018
- Last Date for Application Submission will be 31st July 2019, by which time all the listed colleges will have announced their final list of admissions.
Eligibility
- Bright, young girls with a record of academic excellence, confident of getting admission in India’s best science colleges, can apply as soon as they complete their Class XII examinations.
- Only students who opt to study pure/natural science courses for their graduation are eligible for this scholarship.
- Preference will be given to students with rural backgrounds, economically weak backgrounds and interest in scientific research.
- Important: The scholarship will be given only to students who have confirmed admissions to any of the colleges listed.

- Fill application and submit documents.
- Select institution/s.
- Submit admission offer from any one institution (by 31 Jul 2019).
- Wait for the selection confirmation email.
- The last date for application submission will be 31 Jul 2019, by which time all the listed colleges will have announced their final list of admissions.
