Madurai Kamaraj University Invites Applications for BSR Meritorious Fellowships

Applications are invited by Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU), Madurai for BSR Meritorious Ph.D. Fellowships for the students pursuing their studies in the Ph.D. program in the School of Mathematics for the session. University Grants Commission (UGC) sanctions BSR Meritorious Fellowships to the School of Mathematics, Madurai Kamaraj University.

Eligibility

=> The candidates qualified in the CSIR, UGC, GATE, NBHM and other equivalent National Entrance Tests (NET) and SLET are exempted from appearing in the entrance test. They are eligible to directly attend the interview before the selection committee.

=> The candidates with M.Sc./M.Phil is also eligible to apply and they have to appear in an entrance test conducted by the school

Scholarship Amount

For Non-Gate Candidates (1st and IInd Year) Rs.14,000/p.m. + Contingency Rs.12,000/p.a. (3rd to Vth Year ) Rs.16,000/p.m. + Contingency Rs.25,000/p.a.

For GATE qualified (1st and IInd Year) Rs.16,000/p.m. + Contingency Rs.12,000/p.a. candidates (3rd to Vth Year ) Rs.18,000/p.m. + Contingency Rs.25,000/p.a.

Duration of the Programme:

The tenure of fellowship is initially for two years. Upon expiry of this period, the work of the fellow will be evaluated by an Expert Committee. If found satisfactory, his/her tenure will be extended for a further period of three years.

The qualified candidates are requested to submit their application in the enclosed Application Format along with attested copies of the certificates and self-addressed stamped envelope to THE CHAIRPERSON, SCHOOL OF MATHEMATICS, MADURAI KAMARAJ UNIVERSITY, MADURAI – 625 021.
