The Centre for Nanotechnology & Advanced Biomaterials (CeNTAB) was started in 2005 and dedicated to the nation by His Excellency Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, then President of India. SASTRA has proactively established this Centre with a view to use Nanotechnology to develop meaningful solutions that would upgrade the quality of life and society. While Nanotechnology has wide ranging applications, CeNTAB has carefully chosen to work on two main areas - Health Care and Electronics.
The vision of the Centre is to become a pioneer in the field of Medical Nanotechnology and translate laboratory results into commercial products that will improve health care immensely.
