About
The Masters in Journalism and Mass Communication is a post-graduate program by the School of Journalism at Renaissance University. It provides the students expertise in the field of Mass Communication, Video and Television along with conceptual courses in Media and Cultural studies, Communication theory and research as well as Visual studies. It is committed to provide contemporary and industry-relevant media education.
The curriculum at the School of Journalism is focused on blend of inputs on all forms of mass communication including but not limited to advertising, print journalism, public relations, documentary, filmmaking, and television production. It seeks to provide the best in theory and practice of Journalism to its students. To achieve this mandate, we deploy innovative teaching methods including the use of audio-visual media to discuss complex concepts in class and impart hands-on experience with technology.
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass communication with a minimum aggregate score of 50% (for SC/ST/OBC 45%) and minimum duration of 3 years from a recognized University.

Program Highlights
- Industry interactions with local and national print and media channels.
- Camera operating training to students
- Practical experience with lectures, printing plate type for newspaper publishing, & print style of different media houses.
- Training the students in typing, photo camera handling and videography.
Admission Guidelines
The following Admission Guidelines are strictly adhered to by Renaissance University :-
- The minimum Prerequisite to apply for admissions in any of the Undergraduate programs is to achieve a 12th class passing certificate from any recognized board of India.
- The minimum Prerequisite for Foreign Nationals to apply for admissions in any of the Undergraduate programs is to achieve and submit an equivalent of 12th class passing certificate recognized in that country and meeting the equivalence criteria of ‘Association of Indian University’.
- The Prerequisite to apply for admissions in any of the Postgraduate programs is to be a graduate from any recognized University of India.
- The Prerequisite for Foreign Nationals to apply for admissions in any of the Postgraduate programs is to submit a graduation degree awarded by a recognized University of that country and meeting the equivalence criteria of ‘Association of Indian University’.
- The University reserves the final discretion with regards to the admission of a student.
- The admission criteria for the students of General Category will be different from students belonging to SC, ST or Other backward classes.
- The fees structure for Indian students and International students may vary.
- Renaissance University reserves the right to disqualify any student from the admission process who has not completed the age of 17 years.
