As a part of an agreement between the IIS University, Jaipur and the Pennsylvania State University, USA, a group of 8 students from The Penn State reached The IIS University, Jaipur on Friday.
This seven-day visit is a part of an agreement signed between the two institutions in the year 2013 for purposes of academic and cultural exchange for mutual understanding and benefit of students from the two countries. This is the fourth visit to the university by the Pennsylvanian students.
The first day began with the traditional welcome followed by a speech by the Vice-Chancellor of the University Dr Ashok Gupta in which he familiarised students with the University’s mission and vision and he wished a fruitful stay at the university.
Later, the foreign students took a visit to the campus and get acquainted with the various departments, the faculty members and different facilities available at the campus.
The group’s visit on campus will comprise student sessions on a variety of topics for group discussion, experiential learning, exploring various ways of encountering a new culture, and sight-seeing, local shopping and home visits. All of this has been put together to help the Penn state students gain a deeper insight into the state and to the country’s cultural fabric and its education system, especially at the tertiary level.
