APICET is the Integrated Common Entrance Test for admission in to MBA and MCA regular Courses offered by State Universities and Professional Colleges under the Jurisdiction of A.P State Council of Higher Education for the academic year. The APICET is conducted by Andhra University, Visakhapatnam on behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). The Office of the Convener, APICET is located in Andhra University Campus.

Eligiility Criteria

a) The candidates should be Indian Nationals and should satisfy local / non-local status requirements laid down in the Andhra Pradesh State Educational Institutions (Regulations of Admission) Order, 1974 as amended up to date (as per G.O. Ms. No. 25, dated: 19.03.2004 & G.O.Ms.No.108, dated 3-7-2005,Higher Education Department, dated 30-7-2005 and its amendments).

b) The candidates other than Indian Nationals should satisfy the rules of the Universities concerned.

c) The candidates seeking admission;

i) For MBA: Should have passed recognized Bachelors Degree Examination of minimum three years duration with at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of SC,ST reserved categories) in the qualifying examination.

ii) For MCA: Should have passed recognized Bachelors Degree examination of minimum three years duration with at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of SC,ST reserved categories) in the qualifying examination with Mathematics or one of the subject at 10+2 level.

d) The qualifying Degree obtained by Distance Mode Program should have recognition by joint committee of UGC, AICTE and DEC.

e) The candidates who are appearing for the final year degree examination shall also be eligible to appear for APICET – 2016

f) Admission into any college depends on its Recognition/Affiliation by the Statutory Bodies.

g) Qualifying marks in APICET - 2016 is 25% and no minimum marks are prescribed for SC/ST candidates

Exam Pattern

The test is held in offline mode. The candidates will be required to mark their answers in an OMR sheet. It has been designed to measure the candidate’s ability to think systematically, to use the verbal and mathematical skills and to assess their aptitude for admission into MBA program. A total of 200 questions will be asked in the test, divided into 3 sections. The language will be English and Tamil for section A and B and only English for section C. The duration of APICET 2016 is 2.5 hours. The table below furnishes the APICET 2016 Exam pattern in detail –

Total 200

The candidates will be awarded with 1 mark each for marking a correct answer. However, there is no negative marking in this exam. The total mark of the test is 200, wherein section A & B will carry 75 marks while section C will carry 50 marks. If the candidate gives more than one answer to any question, such answers will be ignored while awarding marks.
