{"id":9693,"date":"2022-09-12T06:56:39","date_gmt":"2022-09-12T06:56:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.indcareer.com\/news\/rejudge-project-stakeholders-and-partners-meet\/"},"modified":"2022-09-12T07:23:48","modified_gmt":"2022-09-12T07:23:48","slug":"rejudge-project-stakeholders-and-partners-meet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.indcareer.com\/news\/rejudge-project-stakeholders-and-partners-meet\/","title":{"rendered":"REJUDGE PROJECT STAKEHOLDERS AND PARTNERS MEET |"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>The ReJudge Project supported by the Bill &amp;amp; Melinda Gates Foundation through the<br \/>University of Central Lancashire, UK with the principal Indian partner being the School of<br \/>Medical Sciences, University of Hyderabad had its key stakeholders meeting on 7 th<br \/>September afternoon and dissemination of the results meeting on 8 th September 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The project ReJudge is about \u201cReducing rates of non-medically indicated CS through an<br \/>Open Access multi-media evidence and behavioural change programme for lawyers and<br \/>judges\u201d<br \/>Prof. B.R.Shamanna as the Indian PI and Mr.Sunny Mannava and Mr.Jirra Karthik; both<br \/>research scholars; as Indian Co-PI carried out stakeholder interviews, workshops and<br \/>documentation to be brought to this meeting for discussions over the last 9 months.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the stakeholder meeting on 7 th afternoon was:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To discuss recommendations for key external stakeholders (service providers, service<br \/>users, managers, policy makers, funders; etc)<\/li>\n<li>To consider potential educational tools for the multi-media education package<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The purpose of the dissemination meeting on 8 th was:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To share the results of the ReJudge project with key personnel in maternity, health<br \/>care, social &amp;amp; behavioural sciences, communication, and the legal profession.<\/li>\n<li>To discuss the implications of the findings for future education and practice in India<br \/>in the maternity and legal professions<\/li>\n<li>To consider potential educational tools for the planned ReJudge multi-media<br \/>education package<\/li>\n<li>To propose possible recommendations for policy makers and those involved in<br \/>maternity care, and in associated legal activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-25561 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.indcareer.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/8th-1.jpg\" alt='' width=\"372\" height=\"249\" data-pagespeed-url-hash=\"717197910\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-25562 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.indcareer.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/8th-2.jpg\" alt='' width=\"372\" height=\"248\" data-pagespeed-url-hash=\"1011697831\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-25564 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.indcareer.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/8th-3.jpg\" alt='' width=\"384\" height=\"257\" data-pagespeed-url-hash=\"1306197752\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Over 75 participants participated in this meeting over the 1.5 days deliberations and key ideas<br \/>towards research, policy and education were threshed out at the end of the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The project due to end in October 2022 will provide the partners namely \u2013 University of<br \/>Central Lancashire, UK; University of Hyderabad, India; Dalhousie University, Canada;<br \/>World Health Organization, Geneva and Sao Paolo University, Brazil plan the next phase for<br \/>a larger grant and setting up sustainable mechanisms in this area on education, research and<br \/>policy going forward.<\/p>\n<p>The Dean, SoMSc, Prof Geeta K Vemuganti welcomed the gathering and participated as an<br \/>important stakeholder in this meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Soo Downe the Chief Investigator from University of Central Lancashire,UK and<br \/>Dr.Ana Pilar Betran from WHO, Geneva, Switzerland, attended in person and others made<br \/>virtual presentations.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<h2>About University of Hyderabad<\/h2>\n<p> The University of Hyderabad is an institute of post-graduate teaching and research. The school was established by an act of the Parliament of India in 1974 as a Central University. Over the years, it has emerged as a top ranking institute of higher education and research in India. The university also offers courses under distance learning programs.
