BSF Janbaz Motorcycle Show marks \u2018Azadi
\nKa Amrit Mahotsav\u2019 celebrations at Chandigarh University<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

MOHALI:<\/span><\/b> Patriotism filled the air at the
\nGharuan campus of Chandigarh University, celebrating \u2018Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav\u2019
\nto celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence, with daredevils of
\nBorder Security Force (BSF) enthralled everyone by putting up a show of
\nundaunted courage with their intrepid skills and stunts on daredevils. <\/span><\/p>\n

Janbaz, a
\n64-member team of motorcyclists from Headquarters, Special DG, BSF, Western
\nCommand, Chandigarh defied gravity and put up a daring show of skills and
\ntechnique on their motorcycles, much to the applaud of the huge gathering at
\nthe University campus.<\/span><\/p>\n

Parveer
\nRanjan (IPS), Director General of Police, Chandigarh UT, graced the occasion as
\nthe Chief Guest at the celebrations, during which the BSF team put up a
\nstunning display and showcased their skills. <\/span><\/p>\n

In a
\ncaptivating sight, rows of uniformed bike riders standing in perfect coordination
\nperched on Royal Enfield bullets left the spectators astonished. The intrepid manoeuvre
\nlike Neck Riding, Fish Riding, Janbaz Jump, Adventure Jump, Pole Exercise, Head
\nStand, Back Riding, Back Rider Ladder, Side Riding, T Position, Five Man, Chest
\nJump, Musical Ride, and Tube Light Jump etc were performed by the dare devils
\nunder the command of team captain Inspector Awadesh Kumar Singh.<\/span><\/p>\n

Chancellor,
\nChandigarh University, S. Satnam Singh Sandhu and Vice Chancellor Dr Anand
\nAgrawal, P V Rama Sastry (IPS), ADG BSF, Western Command, Chandigarh, Sham
\nKapoor, DIG (Administration), Headquarter, SDG, Western Command, Amaninder Kaur
\nBrar, ADC, SAS Nagar, and Sandeep Chanan, DIG, various dignitaries of UT
\nAdministration, Chandigarh, and Punjab Government, NCC Cadets from Tricity,
\npeople from SAS Nagar, Mohali, students and Staff members of Chandigarh
\nUniversity were present on the occasion.<\/span><\/p>\n

DGP Ranjan,
\nthe Chief Guest at the occasion, commended the brave jawans for their
\nself-determination, mental alertness, unparalleled courage, physical strength
\nand excellence in handling motorcycles and wished the team success for their
\nfuture efforts. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOur country
\nis safe today only due to the sacrifices of our heroic jawans. The BSF has a
\nglorious tradition of defending India’s borders, irrespective of fog, storms,
\nrains or severe winters,\u201d said the police chief.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking on
\nthe occasion, Chancellor, Chandigarh University, S. Satnam Singh Sandhu saluted
\nthe contribution of Border Security Forces.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe BSF has
\nmade the most significant contribution in the protection of India\u2019s sovereignty,
\neven by the sacrificing the life of its soldiers. Our Jawans are at the
\nforefront of humanitarian assistance in times of crisis and natural calamities
\nbesides guarding the borders come what may. Through its ever growing NCC wing, Chandigarh
\nUniversity is also preparing the future soldiers for the country, even as many
\nof our students are serving as officers in the Indian Army,\u201d said Sandhu.
Earlier, Sham Kapoor, DIG (Administration), Headquarter, SDG, Western Command,
\nspoke about the outstanding contribution of DGP Chandigarh in keeping the city
\nand the surrounding areas safe and secure besides elaborating about BSF Janbaz
\nMotoreycle Team and its performances.<\/span><\/p>\n

He informed that
\nthe team has the honour of setting 17 world records for various events and
\ngetting their names itched in the Limca Book of World Records, Asia Book of
\nWorld Records, London Book of World Records etc.<\/span><\/p>\n

A special
\nperformance by the Bhangra team of Chandigarh University was also a major
\nattraction during the celebrations.<\/span><\/p>\n
