Delhi University has officially confirmed that for the 2026-27 academic session, undergraduate admissions will remain strictly tied to the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG scores<\/a><\/strong>. Despite the University Grants Commission (UGC) allowing students the flexibility to appear for CUET in subjects they did not study in school, DU has chosen to override this flexibility<\/strong>. The university mandates that candidates must only appear in those subjects in CUET that they have cleared in their Class 12 Board examinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This “Subject Mapping” rule is the most frequent cause of admission cancellation at DU. If a student chooses a high-scoring subject in CUET that was not part of their Class 12 marksheet, their eligibility for that specific course will be nullified during the seat allocation phase. For 2026, the university has also clarified that School of Open Learning (SOL)<\/strong> and NCWEB<\/strong> will continue their merit-based admission (Class 12 marks), providing a crucial alternative for students not appearing for CUET.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
