Exciting changes are underway in the AIIMS PhD selection process! In a bid to augment transparency, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has announced a revamp of the assessment pattern. AIIMS Delhi will no longer rely on interview-based selections but will instead evaluate candidates through objective written examinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The revised selection process aims to ensure top-notch research quality and bolster the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF)<\/a> rankings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a press release issued on Tuesday, AIIMS Delhi stated, “We are pleased to inform that the Director of AIIMS, New Delhi, has implemented reforms in the selection process for PhD admissions and Institute Fellowship awards. These reforms will serve as a positive catalyst for high-quality research and significantly improve AIIMS, New Delhi’s standing in research, as per the NRIF rankings.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the institute has proposed the allocation of a budget of Rs 200 crore to initiate 40\u201350 PhD Institute Fellowships, aligning with the esteemed Prime Minister’s Research Fellows scheme. A separate budget of Rs 200 crore has been earmarked for this purpose, subject to the approval of the relevant authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The statement further mentions, “The Director engaged in discussions with AIIMS faculty, PhD students, and scientists, and recognized the need for an internal funding mechanism to increase the intake of exceptional PhD students. This mechanism will facilitate the awarding of institute fellowships, enabling impactful research within the institute.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AIIMS PhD entrance exams will be held biannually in conjunction with the DM\/MCh Entrance Examinations at various centers across the country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
