‘KIMAYA’, the Medical Society of KIIT functioning at KSAC, organized a Health Awareness Programme promoting Sustainable Development Goal-3 at Tapovan Basti, Khandagiri, Bhubaneswar on the occasion of World Health Day. Student members of KIMAYA, who belong to medical, dental and nursing courses, informed the inhabitants of the basti about general health, hygiene, nutrition, oral health and first aid measures through live demonstrations and interactive sessions. They educated the mass through video demonstrations of first aid techniques, tooth brushing techniques and oral hygiene measures. This was followed by a Health Quiz session for the students. All participants were given certificates and a health and first aid kit.
The event was organized by the Student Coordinators of the Society, Shamanish Goutam, Ashwani Mishra, Subhadeep Bakra and Assistant Coordinators, Deyasinee Paul and supported by the KSAC staff, Ms. Jaylaxmi Mishra and Sonali Pradhan. Dr. Shyam Sundar Behura, Dy. Director, Student Services addressed the gathering and thanked the local organizers and Team KIMAYA for conducting the health outreach programme.
