West Bengal Board has cancelled class 10th and 12th Board examinations 2021. On Monday, June 7, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced that class 12 and 10 Board examinations for academic session 2021 have been cancelled in the state. The decision to cancel the exams is based on recommendations made by an expert committee and public opinion.

In a public poll coinduct5ed by the West Bengal govt, 80% of the public has voted to cancel the board exams. Mamata Banerjee said that the West Bengal Board exam cancellation decision has been taken after consultation with the stakeholders.

The government has received 34 thousand emails and 79% of them suggested that the Madhyamik examination should be scraped and 83% were against the HS exam. Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee informed that the evaluation methods for HS Madhyamik students will be fixed by two boards after consultation with experts and the education department. Also so the evaluation criteria for both the boards will be announced within 7 days.
