New Delhi, November 16 2021: Gurushala, a teacher capacity building website, is an initiative of Indus Towers Ltd. and Vodafone Idea Foundation and is implemented by Pratham Education Foundation, declared the Gurushala National Aptitude Test results of classes 6 & 7 today. Girls have outshined boys in the test and the topper is from Tripura – Niladrita Bhowmik of class 6 from Sri Krishna Mission School, West Tripura secured 98 percentile in four subjects.

GNAT was launched with an aim to bridge the gap which was widened during the pandemic period where school teachers faced a lot of challenges in mapping the students with the self-learning at home with utmost guidance thus the test will help teachers to guide their students better based on their performance on the aptitude. More than 80,000 registered for GNAT while more than 1 Lakh students across India completed the test on the specific dates of their exams! The tests for classes 6-10 were divided across three days based on their classes and subject.

Each student will now be provided with a 14-page detailed report card which will be based on six parameters; Scientific Literacy, Numerical Aptitude and Social and Cultural Awareness, Verbal Reasoning, and Logical Reasoning aptitude of students. Report card will focus on specific subject based performance analysis of the student and for the improvement, Learning Improvement Plans and Learning tasks Analysis will be given to them. It also includes the speed and accuracy levels of students which will focus on guiding the students to adapt to enhance their scores and their learning styles to prepare for competitive exams in future.

Speaking about the results of GNAT, Ms. Keneile-ü Suokhrie, a teacher from Govt Higher Secondary School Tuensang, Nagaland said, ‘Despite the odds when teachers give efforts to boost the confidence of the learners to handle the present. The future sure is promising. students of Nagaland had a first time hand on experience on Gnat test and yes despite their first exposure to this kind of very new experience, the eye opening platform to test their aptitude will surely mould their thinking and learning in the days to come‘.
