Young Emiratis expressed their belief in the power of possibility after being chosen to attend engineering lessons at one of the world’s most prestigious engineering colleges. These exceptional students, who achieved outstanding academic scores, were selected by the UAE’s education authority to participate in programs at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi.
The IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi campus is set to open next year and is currently organizing summer math and science programs in Abu Dhabi to prepare Emirati students for college admissions to top global universities.
The IIT-Delhi Abu Dhabi campus aims to attract and nurture the brightest young minds in technology and engineering. Students who attended a 10-day engineering program at the IIT Delhi campus expressed their excitement at being taught by IIT professors who have also taught at prestigious institutions like Harvard and MIT. This opportunity has instilled in them a newfound belief in themselves and the idea that nothing is impossible.
The program focuses on boosting students’ STEM skills, covering advanced topics in calculus, probability theory, robotics, drone engineering, and design. The outreach program also included workshops on drone technology, with a focus on swarm technology. The opening of the IIT-Delhi Abu Dhabi campus is expected to have long-term benefits, as students trained here will be equipped to develop solutions tailored to the unique needs of the UAE.
The campus will offer bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD degrees, as well as operate research centers in areas such as sustainable energy, climate studies, computing, and data sciences.
