Research Scholars attend ICDCM in Portugal |

Four Ph.D. scholars, Mrs. Devarakonda S Surya Bindu, Ms. Harita Pant, Mr. Ravikiran Nowduru and Ms. Fathima Ali Kayakool working with Prof. Dr. Vadali V S S Srikanth, School of Engineering Sciences and Technology (SEST), have presented their research work at the prestigious International Conference on Diamond and Carbon Materials (ICDCM) 2022 held at Altis Grand Hotel, Lisbon, Portugal, from 4th September to 8th September 2022. Elsevier organized ICDCM 2022 in partnership with Materials Today.


Mrs. Surya Bindu, Ms. Harita, and Ms. Fathima presented their work on novel graphenaceous materials for energy storage applications. Mr. Ravikiran presented his work on novel nanocarbons as nano additives for lubrication. Mrs. Surya Bindu, Ms. Fathima, and Mr. Ravikiran presented their work through posters, while Ms. Harita presented her work through an oral presentation. Mr. Harita is the only scholar from an Indian University/Institute selected for oral presentation.

The Ph.D. scholars had great interaction with professors and industrial personnel, who helped them, understand the research gaps and requirements of industries to translate academic research into valuable products and several other aspects. There were positive interactions with eminent professors like Prof. Magda Titirici from Imperial College of London, Prof. Tristan Petit from Helmholtz Zentrum Berlin, Prof. Anke Krueger from University of Wuerzburg, and several others.

The Ph.D. scholars thanked the hon’ble VC Prof. B. J. Rao, Prof. Dibakar Das (Dean, SEST), Dr. I. Lokananda Reddy (FO, UoH), Dr. Bipin P. Varghese (CE’s office, UoH) and Prof. G. S. Prasad (RITE, UoH) for their great administrative support. Ms. Harita, Mr. Ravi, and Ms. Fathima (fellows under the PMRF scheme) especially thank Prof. J. P. Gautam (PMRF coordinator) for his timely support. Mrs. Bindu sincerely thanks IoE for the travel support. Mr. Ravi acknowledged the partial financial support through the ITS scheme of SERB-DST.
