Manipur University Signed A Memorandum Of Understanding With Bangor University, Uk For Collaboration In Research & Exchange Programs

A memorandum of understanding aimed to establish and develop a strategic collaborative relationship in order to promote academic and Cultural exchange between Manipur University and Bangor University, Wales, United Kingdom was signed recently. The MOU incorporates facilities for information exchange, exchange of Students and Staffs, e learning and distance learning technologies in addition to collaborative research.

Bangor University, formerly called the University College of North Wales is a public university established in the year 1884. The  campus  stretched  in Bangor and  Wrexham. The university was made up of three Colleges housing fourteen academic Schools, as well as over fifty specialist research centers, enabling the provision of courses spanning the Arts, Humanities, and Sciences. In the academic year of 2021-2022, the university had a total student enrolment of more than 11000 that includes  6623 full-time undergraduates and 380 part-time undergraduates. In addition to that, there were 1045 full-time postgraduates and 719 part-time postgraduates. Some of it’s alumni included film director Danny Boyle, actress Frances Barber, renowned chemist Colin Eaborn, musician Bill Fay, writer Tony Gillam, producer Tim Haines, actor John Ogwen ,poet R.S. Thomas and physician Herbert Wilson, who was known for his contribution to the DNA structure research.

In the first listing of exchange programs a collaborative research is planned on the Poisonous Snakes of Manipur & their Venom.
