Aligarh, June 22: Aligarh Muslim University Centre, Malappuram organised a five-day faculty development program on ‘Technology: Integration and Interaction’ recently. The FDP was approved and sponsored by AICTE, Training and Learning Academy (ATAL). It included 200 participants from the premium institutions of the nation. It consisted of fifteen academic sessions led by experts in the field. The hands-on training sessions were specially designed to provide practical experiences to the participants on relevant online educational tools and techniques

The opening session had a virtual inaugural speech by Prof Nisar Ahmad Khan, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, AMU. He highlighted the role of technology in the teaching and learning process. He emphasized that technology is not going to replace teachers; teachers using technology effectively in teaching and learning are going to replace the teachers who are not to do so”.

Dr Faisal KP presided over the session and highlighted the contributions of the Malappuram Centre in equipping the teachers of the nation. He placed on record the contributions of Mr Naseer Ali MK., the coordinator of the FDP and an assistant professor of the Centre in organising and coordinating various programs. He also highlighted the important programs organised by different units of the Centre during the period of Covid-19 pandemic

Mr Naseerali MK., welcomed the participants and oriented them with the nature of the program. “The FDP is special as it includes theoretical and practical sessions. Among the fifteen sessions, five are hands-on training sessions”, he said.

In his vote of thanks Dr Raghul V Rajan, convener of IQAC at the Centre expressed gratitude to the ATAL for endorsing the proposal and approving it.

Participants were provided recorded videos, learning and reference materials on the Learning Management System.

In the closing session, during the valedictory speech Dr Girdhari Lal Garg, Assistant Director of ATAL academy said, “thus, this is a model FDP for ATAL”. He asked everyone to prefer collaboration to competition and also listened to the reflections by participants.

The coordinator of the FDP, Mr.Naseer Ali M.K. presented a brief report on the program.. Dr Raghul V Rajan, proposed the vote of thanks in the session.

The certificates to the participants will be issued by ATAL through its web portal based on their performances in the achievement test.
