New Delhi, June 08: India’s apex Hospitality Association and the voice of the industry – Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI) has announced a scholarship program for students interested in pursuing a 3-year B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration from the FHRAI Institute of Hospitality Management (FHRAI-IHM), Greater Noida. Children of employees of member establishments of FHRAI and its direct members will be awarded a 50 per cent waiver in tuition fees on a merit and first-come-first basis. FHRAI has announced the scholarship programme with the aim to offer students an opportunity to pursue world-class education and to increase the availability of quality manpower for the industry by facilitating affordable education from India’s leading hospitality management institute.
FHRAI-IHM is the first and only private institution run by an Industry Association that is affiliated with the National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.
“A qualified and committed workforce is the key for hospitality to grow and prosper. Today, the industry faces a dual challenge with eroding the number of candidates pursuing hospitality education and a higher attrition rate in employment. One of FHRAI’s stated objectives is to run institutes to provide education and training, both formal and job oriented, in the field of hospitality management, technology and professional education to meet the requirement of India’s hospitality, tourism and allied Industries. With the scholarship scheme, FHRAI is making efforts at offering world-class hospitality education to deserving students at affordable costs,” says Mr Gurbaxish Singh Kohli, Vice President, FHRAI.
The admissions will be based on the merit of class 12th result, availability of seats and approval of the affiliating organisation viz. NCHMCT, Noida. Registration is open for direct admission at https://www.fhrai-ihm.com/.
“Qualifying students can avail 50 per cent scholarship of the tuition fee for the B.Sc. Hospitality & Hotel Administration program being offered through the FHRAI – IHM. Under this initiative, children of FHRAI members along with children of employees working in the member establishments can apply against a limited number of scholarships available for the first year B.Sc. program. The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of merit and first come first serve basis. The scholarship offer will be applicable to the present employees of the member establishments only,” says Mr Arun Kumar Singh, Director, FHRAI-IHM.
FHRAI-IHM is built on a sprawling 7-acre campus with state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure at Knowledge City in Greater Noida. It hosts a well-equipped 70-bedded hostel for girls and 200-bedded hostel for boys on the campus. The institute boasts of dedicated and experienced faculty working under the Director of the Institute – Arun Kumar Singh, former Principal of IHM, Mumbai. FHRAI-IHM assures students of placement after completion of the 3-year education program.
