A four-day drone workshop, ‘Lift-Off’, was organized by the KIIT Robotics Society recently to provide the university students a hands-on experience of the latest drone technologies in the industry. It was attended by 350 students.
The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. J. R. Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT-DU in the presence of Prof. U. P. Singh, Dean (I/C), KIIT School of Electronics Engineering. It introduced UAV drones as well as the prerequisite theories. Participants took part in a virtual flying simulation using the software “Lift-Off”. Following the assembly and calibration, they tried their tech-creation in the KIIT & KISS Athletic Stadium.
Prof. Nirmal Kumar Rout, Director, Student Research Cell, KIIT-DU oversaw the conduct of the workshop. It was coordinated by faculty coordinators, Prof. Vimal Kumar Shrivastava, Prof. Mano Ranjan Kumar, Prof. Shivam Prakash Gautam, Prof. Israj Ali, Prof. Anish Pandey and Prof. P. Chandrasekhar.
Among others, Sharwari Tikare, Space Chase Representative and KRS faculty coordinators were present.
