Dr. Sapna Mishra is an illustrious alumnus of the School of Medical Sciences, University of Hyderabad (UoH) where she pursued her Master of Public Health (MPH) from the second batch in the years 2014-2016. During her Master’s dissertation, she looked into the awareness of health hazards among workers processing E-waste in the slums of Hyderabad. She further qualified for the UGC-JRF examination and enrolled for her Ph.D. at Shri. Achutha Menon Centre for Health Science Studies under Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Tiruvananthapuram, Kerala in 2016. Her Ph.D. work continued her interest in informal occupational groups and she explored occupational health in the context of precarious work among the same workers with whom she worked for her master’s dissertation. She successfully completed her Ph.D. in December 2021. She also received another prestigious fellowship called the India Health System and Policy Research Fellowship (2021-2022). She has been recently offered a post of Assistant Professor at Azim Premji University, Bangalore which is a very competitive and much sought after position.
