Dr. Aleena Sebastian, an alumnus of the University of Hyderabad has received a scholarship from the International AIDS Society (IAS) for an oral presentation at the 24th International AIDS Conference which is to be held in Montreal, Canada, between 29th July and 2nd August 2022. Founded in 1988, the IAS is the world’s largest association of HIV professionals, with members in more than 170 countries. Dr. Sebastian’s presentation will highlight the impact of COVID-19 on mental health and sexual risk among MSM in India.

Dr. Sebastian completed her Ph.D. in 2019 from the Department of Sociology, University of Hyderabad, under the supervision of Prof. Pushpesh Kumar. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS), Bangalore.
