Counsel General of Iran visits UoH |

H.E. Mr. Mahdi Shahrokhi, Consul General and Ms. Mina Hadian, Vice Consul of Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran visited the University of Hyderabad on 7th March 2022.

Prof. B J Rao, Vice-Chancellor, UoH extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries and gave a brief introduction of the activities of the University. He opined that more students from Iran may look at pursuing their education in the university. H.E. Mr. Mahdi Shahrokhi took over as the Consul General nine months ago and this was his first visit to the university. Mr. Shahrokhi expressed the desire to have fruitful collaborations between the University of Hyderabad and the like-minded institutions in Iran.  Prof. N Siva Kumar, Director- Office of the Global Education (OGE) at the university was also present on the occasion.

The University of Hyderabad is an institute of post-graduate teaching and research. The school was established by an act of the Parliament of India in 1974 as a Central University. Over the years, it has emerged as a top ranking institute of higher education and research in India. The university also offers courses under distance learning programs. The university is a member of the ‘Association of Indian Universities’ (AIU), the ‘Association of Commonwealth Universities’ (ACU) and ‘International Council for Distance Education’. An Academic Staff College has been functioning on the university campus since 1988 under the UGC scheme for improving the standards of teaching in colleges and universities.
