Aligarh, July 9: The Special Centenary issue of Aligarh Muslim University Gazette was released by Vice Chancellor Prof. Tariq Mansoor on Friday. The AMU Centenary Gazette has been published by Sir Syed Academy to commemorate the Centenary Year celebrations of the University.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Tariq Mansoor said, “The Centenary issue of AMU Gazette showcases various programmes and lectures of eminent personalities held as part of Centenary Celebrations. This issue will serve as a record for future and will be useful for references. I appreciate the task done by the Editorial Committee for publication of the Centenary Gazette.”

Registrar, Mr Abdul Hamid, IPS, also lauded the efforts of the editorial committee terming the Centenary Gazette as an important document.

The Special Centenary issue of AMU Gazette includes lectures and speeches by the personalities which were delivered as part of Sir Syed Memorial Lecture series. It also has pictures of University’s important buildings and other landmarks.

The editorial committee for the Special Centenary issue of Aligarh Muslim University Gazette included Prof. Ali Mohammad Naqvi, Director, Sir Syed Academy, Prof. Shafey Kidwai, Mr Mohammad Nasir, Mr. Mohd. Faisal Fareed and Samreen Ahmed.

The Special Centenary issue of AMU Gazette will be shortly available on the University website. The Gazette was founded by Sir Syed Ahmed Khan in 1866 and contains important documentation about the institution.
