CBSE signs MoU with MESC to offer skill development, education, and training for the Media & Entertainment Sector

New Delhi: Media & Entertainment Skills Council (MESC) has entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The primary purpose of this MoU is to extend expertise to each other and to contribute to the students & society at large with specific focus on the skill development, education, and training for the Media & Entertainment Sector. MoU was signed by the MESC CEO Mohit Soni and CBSE officials in august presence of Union Minister of Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan and Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar in New Delhi.

MESC shall support CBSE in identifying the right programs to be offered across various Schools based on the future requirement and will provide technical know-how in establishing Computer Labs, Sound and Production Studio and various Facilities which shall be required for successful delivery of programs. The teachers will also be offered benefits for the participation in various Industry Events and series of Webinars and Workshops by key stakeholders.

MESC will be offering series of Interactions and Workshops for students on preparation for various national and international competitions and will also be working closely to develop and execute “Art Olympiad”. Specific modules related to the same will be developed by MESC and with be offered across schools through CBSE. On this collaboration, renowned Bollywood maker & MESC ChairmanRamesh Shippy, said : “We through our academic and industry partners will develop Curriculum, E-Content, Students Manuals, Assessment Guidelines, Sample Question Banks from Class VI to Class XII for the most in demand Qualifications and support through series seminars, webinars, workshops for students. MESC through CBSE will offer both NSQF aligned programs and various short-term modules for students.”

MESC along with CBSE shall be organizing series of Awareness Camps across the country on the importance of integrating Media and Entertainment related programs/modules in schools at various levels. The principals will also benefit from Industry and Field Visits, Interactions with Professionals and Experts. Mr Mohit Soni, CEO, MESC said: “To integrate Media and Entertainment training programs across the wide network of schools there is a huge requirement of identifying and training new teachers while upskilling the existing teachers. MESC through its network of Industry Partners and Experts will be continuously conducting series of Teacher Training Programs along with CBSE and empower them on Creative and New Age Skills.”

“MESC will work closely with CBSE to offer orientation programs, seminars, workshops, career counselling across the schools for students. Students will also benefit from Free Access to MESC Learning Management Platform and will have ease to learn at their pace and convenience and appear for MECAT Junior to access their true strengths and aptitude towards various courses in Media and Entertainment Sector,” further he added.
