ASDC joins hands with NPOCA to organise National Automobile Olympiad

New Delhi: The Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) has partnered with National Program on Career Awareness (NPOCA) for its flagship program, the ASDC National Automobile Olympiad, began on May 31, 2022. The Automobile Olympiad is a national-level exam held by ASDC to excite school students’ interest in the automotive industry and offer them with basic to advanced information.

The competition features three stages in which students from grades 7 to 12 can learn about the automobile industry. The Olympiad is held online to allow students from all boards and areas around the country to participate.

Registration will be accessible from June 10th through July 31st, 2022, and students will be able to participate through www.asdc.org.in in the Olympiad for free. The first stage results will be announced in October, and the national winners of the Olympiad will be recognized by the ASDC in January 2023.

“ASDC, as the Automotive Sector Skill Council, has pioneered various projects to upskill and competitively position the industry. We are always grateful to have such outstanding programmes and strive to upskill and reskill the next generation for a career in the automotive sector, also believe that such programmes will play a major role in the expansion of industry and employment. In the current scenario, the automobile industry standard is rapidly evolving into robotics and electric vehicles, with the electric vehicles industry expected to generate huge employment and the entire automotive industry will become the biggest industry in next five years” ASDC’s CEO, Mr. Arindam Lahiri, commented.

We are excited about our partnership with ASDC. Industry’s active participation will go a long way in strengthening India’s career education system, supporting individuals, industry and the country to reach their developmental goals. Said Arun Mittal, Project Director – National Program on Career Awareness [NPOCA]. This is NPOCA’s 2nd collaboration with an industry organisation; last year they had conducted the BSE International Finance Olympiad.

The goal is to organise a campaign to raise awareness among the next generation about the automobile industry’s job choices, future prospects, economic growth, and environmental effect. The competition will be mostly theoretical in nature, with the goal of clarifying the fundamental concepts of the industry, journey, and the necessity of the automobile sector.

ASDC is India’s first sector skills council, and it has always emphasized on upskilling students in the automotive industry, believing that skilling is the only way to grow skilled employment, self-employment, the economy, and citizens’ secure futures.
