Aligarh, July 13: The Ahmadi School for the Visually Challenged, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), organised online Patriotic Song; Self-Composed Poetry, Speech and Essay Writing Competitions in different Indian languages to celebrate ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mohotsav’.

Master Miraj Alam (Class VIII) won the Self-Composed Poetry and Speech Competition, while Master Aman Chaudhri (Class-X) stood second. Master Ghulam Mohiuddin (Class-IX) and Master Gulam Husain Khan (Class-VII)      jointly won the third prize while Preeti Kumari (Class-X) bagged the consolation prize.

In the Essay Writing Competition, Master Aman Chaudhri,            Master M Haider Ali            and Master Chandan Kumar Kashyap won the first, second and third prizes respectively. Laiba     bagged the Consolation Prize.

Similarly the Patriotic Song competition was won by Master Ghulam Mohiuddin (Class IX) for the song, “Kranti ki Mashal ko”. Master Abhishek (Class VI) bagged the second prize for the song, “Bata Kya Poochta Hai Mulk”, while Laiba Khan (Class VII) bagged the third prize for the song, “Har Karam Apna Karenge Aye Watan Tere Liye”. Alfia (Class II) and Preeti Kumari (Class X) received consolation prizes.

Dr Seema Bansal (Associate Professor, Vocal Music) of Tika Ram Girls Degree College and Dr Khalida Tarannum (PGT Hindi) Senior Secondary School Girls, AMU were judges for the Song Competition; and Speech and Essay Competition respectively.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr Naila Rashid emphasized the importance of ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mohotsav’ started by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India.

E-Certificate will be issued to all the students who participated in the programme.

Dr Bushra Abbasi and Mr Saleem Ahmad conducted the proceedings. Mr. S. Ahtasham Akbar (PGT English) and Mr. Adil Jaleel (PGT Commerce) proposed the vote of thanks in the first and second session of the function respectively, followed by School and University Tarana by Mr. Sirajuddin Sheikh, Music Teacher of the School. The programme ended with the National Anthem.
