Research Scholar presented a paper in the ‘The 9th biennial Surveillance & Society conference of the Surveillance Studies Network (SSN), hosted by Erasmus University Rotterdam on June 1-3 2022 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands’. The Title of the paper is ‘Smart City Surveillance Project in Hyderabad: A Participatory Model of Surveillance’. The paper analyzes the model of Surveillance being practiced in the city of Hyderabad.

Abstract
‘There are changing discourses around Smart City Surveillance in the world. Hyderabad is a mega city in India and according to reports it is one of the most surveilled city in the world. In this paper, I discuss Smart City Surveillance in Hyderabad and a new model of Surveillance, which is participatory. I analyse the policies of the Hyderabad City Police, citizen’s role in these policies, and also the use of these technologies during the pandemic, and citizens’ resistance therein’.
