Pop Super Star Shakira supporting Indian Education Drive

Shakira who is Good will Ambassador for UNICEF is supporting importance of education drive in India. She flew down to India this month in November to support the drive.

She met adolescent females in Udaipur, Rajasthan where literacy rate is 5 % for women.

    After the success of Polio Eradication Programme, the Rotarians have taken up a new mission of Complete Literacy with Quality Education. TEACH Mission is the new initiative taken up by the Rotary International to eradicate illiteracy in Southern Asia. TEACH Mission consists of ‘T’ for Teachers’ Support, ‘E’ for E-Learning, ‘A’ for Adult Literacy, ‘C’ for Child Development and ‘H’ for Happy Schools. Rotarians admit that only good teachers are able to provide quality education to the youth. To improve the quality of education, teachers required to be more updated and skilled.

    In an initiative taken by the Star Sports Pro Kabbadi League, the volunteers reached The IIS University on Friday to execute an awareness drive on cleanliness. A group of 23 volunteers visit the university campus and had an interactive session with the Journalism and Mass Communication students of the university about the Swachch Bharat Campaign.

    NIT Puducherry receives Award of Excellence by CCI Technology Education Awards 2014

    National Institute of Technology Puducherry (NIT-Py) has been given the "Award of Excellence" by CCI Technology Education Awards 2014. The award was conferred by Gujarat Technological University and Communication Multimedia and Infrastructure Association of India in Karaikal. Bhupendra Singh Chudasame, The Minister of Higher and Technical Education of Gujarat, presented the award to Dr Mrs S K Pandey, director, NIT-Py on July 19 at Ahmedabad.

Mathur, the Vice Chancellor of KIIT University received the award in Ahmedabad. CCI Technology Education Excellence Award is given to University that encourages Research & Development, and publications in world class journals.

    A National Seminar was organized by Sanskriti Group of Institutions on 26th October, 2013 on FDI Issues & Challenges. Eminent speakers from Aligarh Muslim University, Dayalbagh University and Mahamaya Technical University spoke at length on the subject. The speakers dealt in details on the merits and demerits of FDI citing many examples.
