Medical Council of India (MCI) requested to pass Schedule caste students

Medical Council of India has been requested by Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical University of Lucknow to grant MBBS degree to repeatedly failing Schedule caste students.

The university conducted extra classes and even hired external examiners for the failed students but still they were not able to clear the exam.

The Lucknow university has requested Medical Council of India to grant MBBS degrees to these failed students without conducting any further examination.

    IIT Kharagpur is planning to offer Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) courses. IIT Kharagpur will be the first IIT to venture into medical education. The Institute has allocated 3 acres land for the 400-bedded super-speciality hospital named as Dr B C Roy Institute of Medical Science & Research. This institute will be ready by the end of 2017. The hospital will also work on biomedical, clinical and translational research. Drug design and delivery will be other key research areas to which the hospital will contribute.

    All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has announced the results of its entrance test for MBBS programme 2014-2015. Around 2.35 lakh students appeared for AIIMS MBBS entrance exams. The institute has decided to conduct physical counselling for the allocation of seats to be held from July 8 to July 11 in New Delhi. Candidates will have ability to choose institute during councelling based on rank obtained.

    The Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) has annnounced that it will be using AIPMT (All India Pre Medical Test) 2014 scores for MBBS admissions. Candidates who are aiming at Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), should now have to appear for AIPMT 2014. AIPMT is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

    High tech cheating by Android cell phones for qualifying entrance examination of Elite Public Postgraduate Medical Schools

    Two MBA graduates pretended to be candidates for the entrance exam for Elite Public Postgraduate Medical Schools tried innovative cheating technique. They used android phones to capture question paper images and send them through email to a person answering the questions. Their could listen to answers through wireless ear plugs. This high tech cheating was just the same as displayed in Munna Bhai MBBS. Police was able to catch the accused after knowing about the incidence from a student who could not afford the high tech cheating because of lack of money.
