Mahatma Gandhi University library presents International Book Fair INBOFA 2012

International book fair INBOFA 2012 is being organized for promotion of serious readership among book lovers. It attracts sellers, buyers, publishers, distributors, readers, authors, editors and the general public to one location.

A variety of programs has been organized at the book fair such as theme based discussions, seminars, workshops, authors' meet, book launching, book reading sessions ,cultural events, literary events to attract book lovers to the fair.

The fair will start on 13th January 2012 and conclude on 23rd January 2012.
The event will be held on the main campus of the university at Kottayam.

Top ranked Universities from Ireland, UK and Canada offered scholarships and courses to students. The University representatives discussed about global education system and counsel on the courses to the students who visited the fair.

    The third Job Fair organised by Sanskriti Group of Institutions in association with HT times was held on 9th February 2013. There was excellent response as can be judged from the fact that around 1500 aspirants participated in job fair. The participants came from Delhi, Noida, Jaipur, Dehra Dun, Hrihikesh and many other distant places. Fourteen companies participated in the job fair for recruitment of competent candidates.     Podar International School makes Ipad compulsory for students

    Podar International School, Santa Cruz in Mumbai has made Ipad 2 compulsory for students in the class. Vandana Lull School director- Principal believes Ipad will make teaching and learning very interactive and students will have to carry less burden of books. But the move is not accepted well by all the parents. Some parents believe that it may distract students and the normal mode of teaching is far more better than teaching with latest gadgets.
  • Kolkata biggest donor of books for poor

    Kolkata has donated 1.5 lakh books for the “ Aviva Great Wall of Education” for helping the underprivileged children read books which they cannot afford to buy. Aviva carried the drive through out India for book collection but Kolkata was the biggest contributor. The ‘Aviva Great Wall of Education’ placed donation boxes in 500 schools in – Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Ahmadabad, Cochin, Pune and Mumbai.
  • British Council hosts Education Fair in India in the month of November 2011

    The British Council, UK's international Organization for education and cultural relations is hosting exhibition in India for students interested to study in UK. The education fair will be hosted in 6 Indian cities – New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Kochi, Coimbatore, Ahmedabad. The fair will be hosted in Ahmedabad on 19th November 2011 at Hotel Pride. 58 institutions will be participating in the education fair on 12Th & 13 November 2011 at New Delhi, 14th November 2011 is the scheduled date for Kolkata, 15th November 2011 in Mumbai, 17th November 2011 in Kochi and 17th November 2011 in Coimbatore.
