History channel partners with CBSE schools for preserving Indian heritage

History channel partners with CBSE schools for promoting education and protection of heritage monuments in India. They will jointly present Heritage Quiz 2011. The selected candidates will take part in the grand finale organized at New Delhi. UNESCO will also take part in preparing some questions of the quiz.

There will also be other conservation efforts like Heritage walks, Adopt a Monument, Poster making & Short Film Competitions. This move is sure to preserve and protect heritage monuments in the country.

    Senior sculptor and painter G Chandrasekaran has started a fine arts school for disabled in Tirunelveli. The school is named "Ovvai Mulari". The school is going to offer 3 years diploma in fine arts. The first batch is expected to start in August 2015. "There are a number of disabled students who are interested in art. The idea is to train them on various aspects of sculpture-making. The style is mainly based on our heritage and culture but with a modern touch," said Chandrasekaran. Ovvai Mulari, the fine arts school for the disabled students.

    CBSE exams from March 1 to April 17th

    The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board examination for classes 10 and 12 will begin on March 1. For class 10 students, the examination will end on March 19 2014. And for class 12 students, the examination will end on April 17 2014. Around 22.65 lakh students have registered for the 2014 CBSE board exam as compared to 21.76 lakh students registered in 2013 CBSE board exams. The increase in number of students is attributed to large number schools opting for CBSE boards across India. CBSE announced complete date sheet for Class 10 and 12 board exams

    Kerala Government to setup Malayalam University

    Kerala Government is planning to setup a Malayalam University in the state. Keral Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said while speaking to media. THe new university will be named after Thunchathu Ramanujan Ezhuthachan - who is know as Father of Malayalam The university will focus on rich cultural heritage of Kerala state apart from study of linguistic, literature and cultural history, arts and music traditions.

    Karnataka government has decided to introduce CBSE syllabus for 11th standard students for the academic year 2012 – 2013 while 12th standard students will have state board syllabus. The move was taken to groom students at par with the different competitive examination . Interim courses will be conducted for 10th standard students to help them cope up with the class 11th CBSE pattern of learning.     CBSE announced date of AIPMT entrance examination

    Central Board of Secondary examination (CBSE) has announced the date of All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT). The prelims will be held on 1st April 2012 and the main exam on 13th April 2012. This step was taken by CBSE due to postponement of NEET-UG ( National Eligibility cum entrance test for undergraduates). The AIPMT exam syllabus, exam centers and question pattern of the exam will remain exactly the same as it was in 2011.
