GMAT to test students Visual Interpretation skills in 2012

GMAT (Graduate Management Aptitude Test) has introduced the new section integrated reasoning in 2012. The question paper is being changed after 17 years. A lot of students appear in GMAT to get admission in good B-School.

The new section, named Integrated Reasoning, will have four formats. Graphic interpretation , Multiple-source reasoning , Table analysis. For the first time, GMAT will provide candidates an on-screen calculator. This can be used only for the fourth format called two-part analysis.

Timing for the new section is 30 minutes and consist of 12 questions. But the time for the exam (3 hours, 30 minutes) and total scores remains the same. The new section is included by dropping an essay from the analytical writing assessment.

    The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) exam has introduced a new section named "integrated reasoning". This new section will measure a student's ability to convert data from multiple sources and in different formats into relevant information to solve problems. It will involve synthesizing data presented in graphics, text and numbers, converting data from multiple sources into meaningful information, organizing information to see relationships and solve multiple, interrelated problems and combining and manipulating data from one or more sources to solve complex problems.
