Education Research Development Center (ERDC) inaugurated at Chitrakoot

Blind People's Association (BPA) and Ahmadabad Education Society (AES) has collaborated to form Education Research Development Center ( ERDC) at Chitrakoot. It will be inaugurated by Swami Rambhadracharya. The center contains physiotherapy school, industrial training center, distance education center and an exhibition of goods.

The center is formed with a vision to develop new technology for visually impaired people.

    Infosys chief Kris Gopalakrishnan donates ₹225 crore to IIS for Brain Research Center

    Kris Gopalakrishnan, co-founder of software giant Infosys, has donated Rs 225 crore to Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (IISc) for setting up a Brain Research Center. The funds will be trasnfered by Pratiksha Trust, a charitable organization he runs along with his wife Sudha. The trust is known for funding education, research, innovation and entrepreneurship. Brain Research Center will focus on finding cures for brain diseases that are accelerated by old age. This center will recieve support from Centre of Nuroscience and other research facilities at IISc

    Construction for "Global Nuclear Education Center" begins

    Dr Manmohan Singh, layed the foundation stone for Global Center for Nuclear Energy Partnership in Delhi. Global Nuclear Education Center will have five schools for research into advanced nuclear technology, training and education, international seminars, and courses. Subject areas will include nuclear energy systems, radiological safety, applications of radioisotopes and radiation technologies, and nuclear security.

    CBSE announced date of AIPMT entrance examination

    Central Board of Secondary examination (CBSE) has announced the date of All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT). The prelims will be held on 1st April 2012 and the main exam on 13th April 2012. This step was taken by CBSE due to postponement of NEET-UG ( National Eligibility cum entrance test for undergraduates). The AIPMT exam syllabus, exam centers and question pattern of the exam will remain exactly the same as it was in 2011.

    Tata Sons Chief, Satish pradhan said, Campus placement at IIM's are like cattle fairs at pushkar mela held every year, at Confluence 2011 held at IIM Ahmadabad. He said cattle with the best decoration fetches highest bids, same is the case with IIM graduates, one with the best performance in the two year tenure receives the best package. IIM grads compete with each other for the best salary package. They jsut look for high paying job neglecting options to become entrepreneurs, leaders or change agents.
  • Kolkata biggest donor of books for poor

    Kolkata has donated 1.5 lakh books for the “ Aviva Great Wall of Education” for helping the underprivileged children read books which they cannot afford to buy. Aviva carried the drive through out India for book collection but Kolkata was the biggest contributor. The ‘Aviva Great Wall of Education’ placed donation boxes in 500 schools in – Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Ahmadabad, Cochin, Pune and Mumbai.
