Art has the ability to obliterate evil. Beauty lies everywhere be it good or bad, positive or negative but one should have the talent to find goodness in it. Information is just one click away from us but it fails to create emotions and it’s the art which creates emotions and feelings. Prof. Veerbala Bhavsar shared her views at National Painting Camp organized by the Department of Visual Arts of The IIS University on Thursday.
Prof Veerbala Bhavsar was the chief guest on the occasion. She denied calling technology and science an art. “Technology and science are not the art forms because they are intellects but art is subtle and pure”, she said.
Dr. Ashok Gupta, Vice-Chancellor of The IIS University welcomed the artists along with the chief guest. He addressed the gathering by saying that department of visual arts is vibrant, colorful and dynamic and we have already seen the creativity of students and faculty members in Abhivyakti – An Art Exhibition. But this time, it proves to be a platform for the artists of national repute to share their art forms and creativity with the students. He also opined that this camp will be organized in the coming years as well.
Later in the inauguration ceremony, Prof. Bhavsar took the charge of canvas and holds paint brush in her hand to create an exclusive piece of art. With a few strokes of colour she soon created a beautiful painting depicting beauty of nature. A mud-hut surrounded with greenery embedded with a message to love the nature and respect the exquisiteness of old things.
Almost 20 artists from all over the world are participating in the seven days long camp including Avdhesh Mishra and Rajendra Prasad from Lucknow, Meena Baya from Nathdwara, Ram Viranjan from Kurukshetra, Sunil Vishwakarma from Varanasi to name a few. These artists are the masters of their own art forms like abstract, traditional, acrylic, wash, figurative etc. and will create the best art works which will be further shared with the students.
