National Law University Odisha (NLUO) announces MPhil in Law Admission 2016

National Law University Odisha (NLUO) invites applications for admissions to M.Phil in Law for the academic year 2016- 17.

M.Phil in Law admission is conducted by National Law University Odisha (NLUO)

Duration:

The Program is of one & half year duration

Intake:

10 Seats

Eligibility Criteria:

Interested candidates should fulfill following eligibility criteria:
- An applicant seeking admission to M.Phil Program must have: Master’s Degree in Law from any recognized University securing not less than 55% marks or its equivalent in grade

- Master’s Degree in Law from any recognized University with 50% marks or its equivalent in grade and have had at least five years full-time teaching/judicial/professional/administrative experience in the subject

- Degree in Law and a Masters Degree in Social Sciences or Humanities, Management Studies or Sciences from any recognized University with not less than 55% marks or its equivalent in grade

- Obtained a Degree in Law and a Masters Degree in Social Sciences or Humanities, Management Studies or Sciences from any recognized University with 50% marks and have had at least five years full time teaching/judicial/professional/administrative experience in the subject

Application Procedure:

Interested candidates are required to send on or before 18th June 2016 duly filled application forms along with the processing cum application fee of Rs. 3000/- in the form of bank draft drawn in favour of “Registrar, National Law University Odisha” and payable at Cuttack

Fee Details:

Fee structure for M.Phil in Law Teaching & Research Program:

Application Fee Rs.3000/-

Registration Fee Rs 60,000/-

Coursework Exam Fees Rs.2000/-

Hostel Fees Rs 22000/-

In addition to the above, students have to pay such sum as may be notified by the Mess Committees of the University for fooding expenses during their stay

Stipend:

Selected Candidates will be given a stipend of Rs. 15,000/- per month

Important Dates:

M.Phil in Law Important dates section aims to list all important dates such as date of availability of form, last submission date, result date, counselling date, etc.

  • Online registration starts: 15th May 2016
  • Last Date of Submission of Application Form: 18th June 2016
  • Date of Examination M.Phil in Law 2016: 27th June 2016
  • Presentation of Research Proposals: 01st July 2016

Selection Process:

- Submitted application forms will to be screened, and candidates found eligible will be required to appear for an entrance exam on 27th June 2016 (Monday) in NLUO Campus only

- Successful and exempted candidates are required to appear before a panel of experts for a personal Interview. Selected candidates will be notified and intimated

- First Stage: Entrance Exam for 150 marks (Objective test of 100 marks and subjective test of 50 marks.) of 2 hours duration

- The final selection of the candidates for the M.Phil degree program shall be made on the basis of the performance in the Interview

A very new institution, its establishing Act of legislature was notified as recently as April 2009, entrance examinations were conducted in May, and classes began in July.
