About MSc (Data Science and Big Data Analytics)
- MSc Data Science and Big Data Analytics program from MITWPU is a trimester-based program. The first trimester will lay the foundation of Data Science by teaching students fundamental subjects like Mathematics and Statistics, Big Data, and Hadoop framework along with python programming. The next trimester takes students to two tracks Machine Learning and Hadoop ecosystem, Python is used for ML assignments. Students are also introduced to Data Visualization. Machine learning is continued in the third trimester as well and Apache Spark and Scala programming language is introduced. Students are required to do a Mini Project in this trimester using any of the concept learnt so far.
- In fourth Trimester students learn Artificial Intelligence with NLP as well as Principles of Deep learning with hands on lab assignments. Students are introduced to cloud computing concepts and platforms. Second Mini Project is taken up here, where students can solve a challenging problem statement using ML and DL algorithms. The internship and recruitment activities start in this trimester itself. Fifth and Sixth trimesters are devoted to full time internship. Throughout the program, students are encouraged to participate in Hackathons and competitive events as well as develop a research’s mind.

Eligibility Criteria
1. Maharashtra State (MS) Candidature
- Candidate should be an Indian Nationality.
- Passed Bachelor’s Degree in B.Sc(Comp. Sci), BCS, B.Sc(IT) from any recognized University approved by UGC / AIU with 50% of Marks ( 45% marks aggregate in case of candidate backward class categories and persons with disability belonging to Maharashtra state only)
- Obtained score of PG-PET conducted by MIT World Peace University.
2. Other Than Maharashtra (OMS) Candidature
- Passed Bachelor’s Degree in B.Sc(Comp. Sci), BCS, B.Sc(IT) from any recognized University approved by UGC / AIU with 50% of Marks
- Obtained score of PG-PET conducted by MIT World Peace University.
3. Foreign Nation / NRI / OCI / PIO, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries
- Passed Bachelor’s Degree in B.Sc(Comp. Sci), BCS, B.Sc(IT) from any recognized University approved by UGC / AIU (or) Govt. recognized Foreign University with 50% of Marks.
Selection Criteria
- Inter-se-merit based on score in MIT-WPU PGPET 2022 and PI
- Step 1) PGPET 2022- Online proctored entrance exam of 100 marks
- Step 2) Personal Interview of 50 marks
